John Richard Bald, 66, of BullShoals, Ark., died suddenly yesterdaymorning of an apparent heart attack in Bull Shoals.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 11 at St. Pius X RomanCatholic Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, EastMoline.

Friends may call at the Wheelan Funeral Home after noon tomorrrow and therosary will be recited at 7:30 tomorrow night.

Mr. Bald was born Sept. 5, 1904, in New Hampton, Iowa, a son of Edwardand Mary Agnes Cooney Bald. He attended schools in Buffalo, Iowa, theformer Brown Business College in Davenport and the Chicago Institute ofTechnology.

He married Eva L. Schrack, Nov. 29, 1933, in Aledo. He had been with theIowa - Illinois Gas & Electric Co. for 35 years, retiring in September1963. He was an electrical engineer and had served as power plantsuperintintendent and other supervisory capacities with the firm. Heresided in Rock Island from 1950 to 1963.

He formerly lived in Davenport and Iowa City for several years. He movedto Bulll Shoals five years ago. He was an active member of the LindsayPark Boat Club, Davenport, and was a former commodore of the Rock IslandBoat Club.

Survivers include the widow; a son, Richard A., Rock Island; threegrandchildren; three brothers, Vincent of Wahpeton, N.D., Francis A. ofBurlington, and Charles P. of Rock Island; two sisters, Sister MaryAlphonsa of Ottumwa and Mrs J. Ray Keller of Kalamazoo, Mich., twostepbrothers, Harry Bald of Davenport, and Clarence Bald of Freeport; anda stepsister, Mrs. Helen Bear, Davenport.
