Mildred Tisher Dies On Island of Molokai
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, June 27, 1967 at
2 pm at the Franzen Funeral Chapel in Britton for Miss Mildred
Elizabeth Tisher, Molokai, in the Hawaiian Islands. Rev. Cliford
Rogers officiated at the services. Arlo Moeckly, soloist, was
accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Maurice Jones. Pallbearers were
Richard Moeckly, Raymond Moeckly, Lewis Tisher, Welby Moeckly, Merl
Moeckly and Lyle Tisher. Internment was in the Britton Cemetery.
Mildred Elizabeth Tisher was born June 21, 1912 to William and
Freda Tisher at Amherst. After completing her education she taught
school in Marshall county and at Pierre where she taught Home
Economics. She was home extension agent in Potter and Sully counties
for several years. The last six years she was home extension agent on
the island of Molokai. Miss Tisher died June 19, 1967 on the island
of Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands at the age of 54 years. She was a
member of the Capitol City Chapter of the O.E.S.
Survivors include her five brothers: Donald "Buss" Tisher and
Dorn Tisher, both of Amherst; Harold Tisher, Yankton; Rolf Tisher,
Pasco, WA and Irv Tisher, Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by
her parents.
